Take Action

Every Voice Matters. Here’s How to Help.

Whether you have 30 seconds or 30 minutes, there are meaningful ways to contribute to bringing Matthew home. Every action makes a difference.

5 Ways to Support Matthew

1. Share on Social Media

Use #FreeMatthewDorsey and #JusticeForMatthew on every platform. Share this website, the court transcript, and Matthew's story. Social media pressure has freed wrongfully convicted people before.

2. Contact Texas Legislators

Call your representatives and ask them to review Matthew's case. Polite, persistent calls to the Governor's office and criminal justice committee members make a real impact.

3. Reach Out to Media

Contact journalists, podcasters, and content creators who cover wrongful convictions. Suggest they feature Matthew's case. Media attention creates pressure for review.

4. Contact Legal Organizations

Reach out to the Innocence Project, Texas Defender Service, or other legal advocacy organizations. If you are an attorney, your expertise could be invaluable.

5. Join Our Mailing List

Stay updated on campaign milestones, upcoming actions, and breakthroughs. We'll let you know when we need a surge of support.

What to Say When You Call

“I’m calling to ask for a review of Matthew Dorsey’s case from Smith County. He was sentenced to life in prison for aggravated assault of a public servant, but the officer involved testified under oath that Mr. Dorsey never swerved, never crossed lanes, and never came close to his cruiser. No one was injured. The sentence is disproportionate, and his defense counsel was ineffective. I respectfully ask that this case be reviewed for executive clemency or resentencing.”

Texas Legislators to Contact

These offices handle criminal justice matters and have the power to initiate case reviews. Polite, factual calls are most effective.
